In January of this year, a 45-year-old resident of Sovetsk contacted the police. The man reported that he found a well-known brand vacuum cleaner on a free classifieds website — the item was offered at an attractive price. The victim contacted the seller and paid for the purchase, but did not receive the item within the agreed timeframe. After that, communication with the seller was cut off. The damage amounted to 42,000 rubles. A criminal case was initiated for the theft of money by deceit under the article "Fraud." Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Sovetsky," together with operational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kirov region, conducted a series of operational search activities. As a result, they managed to establish the involvement in the crime of a resident of the Moscow region. The girl has already been interrogated as a suspect. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. Law enforcement officials are checking for possible episodes of similar crimes and urging citizens to be vigilant when making online purchases.
