Kirov residents were told how to avoid tragedies on the water.
In the summer, spending time by the water becomes one of the most popular activities for families with children. However, it is during this period that the risk of incidents increases. The press service of the Rospotrebnadzor Administration for the Kirov Region reminds parents that inflatable rings, vests, and armbands cannot replace constant adult supervision.
Children are advised to explain simple rules of behavior in advance: do not push during games, do not dive in unfamiliar places, and do not go deep into the water without adults. Special attention is recommended for games along the shoreline, especially if the shore is slippery or has steep slopes.
Safety must be monitored not only at beaches. Parents are advised to limit children's access to pools, bathtubs, and large containers of water at home or on the property.
Moreover, it is important to remember hygiene rules. Swimming is recommended only in officially permitted places, avoiding swallowing water, and after swimming, taking a shower and rinsing the eyes and nose. If a child shows signs of illness or feels unwell, water activities are better postponed.
Specialists also recommend not entering the water in unverified places after heavy rains or if the water has changed color or has an unpleasant smell.
