If all the juice and ice cream from the PFO were given to children — half a kilo and three liters a month per child.
In the first quarter of 2026, the Volga Federal District ranked first in the country in the production of fruit and vegetable juices, surpassing the Southern and Central districts. At the same time, the Volga Federal District maintained its position among the top three largest producers of ice cream. This data was provided by Rosselkhozbank on the occasion of Children's Day.
From January to March, the district produced nearly 14 thousand tons of ice cream. If all this product were to go only to children and teenagers, then over three months each of them could eat almost 2 kg of cold dessert. On average, each young resident of Bashkortostan or Nizhny Novgorod region accounted for about 1.7 kg per quarter — approximately 500–600 grams per month.
However, actual consumption is more modest. In the first quarter, the average resident of the Volga Federal District consumed about 129 grams of ice cream per month — that’s two standard cups.
Throughout 2025, enterprises in the district produced 86 thousand tons of ice cream. More than half (45 thousand tons) was ice cream. Creamy ice cream accounted for 18 thousand tons, with milk fat substitute — 19 thousand tons, and milk ice cream — almost 3 thousand tons.
The situation with juices is similar. In the first three months of 2026, the Volga Federal District produced about 75 million liters. In terms of children, this means that each child from Tatarstan or Samara region accounted for about 9 liters of juice per quarter — about 3 liters per month. In reality, however, a resident of the Volga Federal District consumes just over 1 liter of juices, nectars, and juice-containing drinks per month.
Certain categories are also led by the Volga Federal District. According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, the district ranks first in the volume of fruit and vegetable juice blends, purees, as well as in the production of apple juice and pumpkin nectar.
In 2025, the Volga Federal District produced about 305 million liters of juices and nectars, including approximately 166 million liters of fruit and vegetable juice blends, 104 million liters of apple juice, 22 million liters of tomato juice, and 34 million liters of nectars.
