26 thefts in two months: Kirov recidivist received 4 years in a strict regime.
The prosecutor's office of the Lenin district of Kirov supported the charges in a criminal case against a 37-year-old local resident who had been convicted multiple times before. The man was again found guilty under Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft) and Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery).
As established in court, the crimes were committed in September and October 2025. Acting out of selfish motives, the defendant stealthily took someone else's property from the premises of several trading organizations in Kirov 25 times. In one of the episodes, a store employee noticed his illegal actions.
The list of stolen items turned out to be typical for such cases: food products, household chemicals, baby food, coffee, and chocolate. The damage from each theft ranged from 2,000 to 11,000 rubles. The total value of all stolen items exceeded 100,000 rubles.
The court agreed with the position of the state prosecutor. Since the man had previously been convicted multiple times for similar selfish crimes, the court imposed a sentence based on the cumulative episodes — 4 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime colony. As clarified by the prosecutor's office, the convicted person will be escorted to the place of serving the sentence under guard.
