Residents of Kirov complain about the quality of lawn mowing in Kochurovsky Park.
The author of the appeal notes that since 2017, more than 115 million rubles have allegedly been allocated for the improvement of the park. At the same time, according to her, "the majority of the asphalt covering of the pedestrian paths is in a deplorable state." Today, May 28, she saw workers performing patch repairs, but, as stated in the appeal, "the condition of the paths already requires a full repair, not just patches."
The storm drains, according to the resident of Kirov, are made of soft aluminum: "which bends, collapses, and breaks." They were partially replaced several years ago, but not completely.
The author is particularly outraged by the mowing of the lawns.
"Every summer instead of beautiful, even lawns, we have to witness the barbarism of the workers," the appeal states. "The lawn is mowed with a tractor, which turns the surface into a muddy mess. The grass is cut haphazardly, crookedly, and in some places, areas are simply missed."
At the same time, the workers, according to the woman, damage the storm drains.
History of the park's improvement
Let us remind you that the Kocurovsky Park began to be improved in 2017. At that time, pedestrian zones and bike paths were built in the park, a dog walking area was created, outdoor lighting was installed, small architectural forms, a fountain, and a stage were set up.
In 2018, 17.6 million rubles were allocated for further improvement of the area. The contractor was to arrange drainage ditches and plant grass.
In 2019, work continued. The authorities allocated another 20 million rubles for the construction of storm drains and drainage. By that time, a total of 57 million rubles had been spent on the park. In the fall of the same year, the contractor was finishing work on the construction of a sewage pumping station and its connection to the existing storm drain on Koneva Street. The city administration then stated that drainage would be the final stage of the improvement.
In 2024, residents complained again — this time about the damaged storm drain grates, which posed a threat to people's health and lives. The city administration then promised to replace the grates and install new ditches by June 1.
However, judging by the new appeal to the editorial office, the problems with drainage and the condition of the lawns have still not been resolved after years.
