The builders are preparing a "cushion" for the stadium in Slobodskoy.

      The construction company "ROST," which is engaged in the reconstruction of the city stadium in Slobodskoy, has begun the first and key stage: preparing the foundation for the structural layers. Currently, workers are removing the topsoil. As the builders explained, preparing the "cushion" is 80% of the success of the entire project. "In stadium construction, there are no unimportant details. Leaving grass and black soil under the future covering is not allowed for several reasons," noted the contractor. Among these reasons is the prevention of subsidence, as over time, organic matter in the soil decomposes, leading to voids and deformation of the field. "We are removing all unstable layers," the builders reported. "Cutting off" the topsoil also provides ideal drainage, as the sports field must remain dry even after heavy rain. A properly prepared foundation is the guarantee that the drainage system will work like clockwork. A well-prepared base is the support for the structural layers. "Ahead is the creation of a complex 'cake' of gravel, sand, and special membranes. They must be laid on an absolutely solid, leveled, and compacted foundation surveyed by geodesists," the contractor noted. It should be noted that this same contractor is building a swimming pool in the city of Slobodskoy. At the end of April, earthworks began at the site of the future sports facility. The head of the region visited the construction site for a working visit. He noted that the new facility will not only promote mass swimming but also improve the physical fitness of schoolchildren and create conditions for sports activities.
