At the meeting, Governor Alexander Sokolov urged residents of the Kirov region to take care of children's safety. In particular, he advised not to let them go alone to bodies of water. If children go there with adults, they should not be allowed to drift away from the shore, the regional head noted.
Moreover, Sokolov recommended not to use inflatable toys while swimming, not to jump from boats, and to stop dangerous games (when children drown each other or hide underwater). "Even if they are not your children, do not walk by, intervene in children's mischief to prevent a tragedy," the governor added.
Sokolov also urged adults to explain to children why they should not cross streets on scooters and bicycles. According to him, this happens quite often.
