      A 68-year-old resident of the village of Torfyanoi contacted the police after money was stolen from her card. About a month ago, a stranger messaged her in a messenger app and offered additional income through investments. The woman agreed and followed the instructions of the interlocutor.

      She was sent a link to a website and a file to install an application supposedly for the exchange. She registered and downloaded the file to her smartphone. It later turned out that it was a fake application. It gave the criminal remote access to her phone.

      With the access obtained, the criminal entered the victim's banking application and transferred 43,000 rubles from her credit card. In connection with the theft, an investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Orichevsky" initiated a criminal case. The police are identifying the suspects and continuing the investigation.
