Boris Vesnin: The Gathering of Generations - a platform for preserving historical memory

      The project is being implemented by the Kirov City Veterans Organization with the support of the Azimov team for the second consecutive year.

      The Gathering of Generations is aimed at preserving historical memory, strengthening the connection between generations, and supporting traditional family values. The main participants in the events were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, workers of the rear, residents of besieged Leningrad, schoolchildren, teachers, and parents.

      As part of the project, a creative competition titled "Aiming for Victory" was held in educational institutions of the city. Its participants included students from all schools in Kirov — over 5,000 people. The competition was conducted in several categories: thematic drawing "We Draw Victory!", letters to the front "Thank you, soldier!" and a conference of research works "Faces of Heroes Through the Eyes of Children."

      The best works of schoolchildren are presented to veterans as part of commemorative events.

      As Boris Vesnin noted, the "Gathering of Generations" project is an important platform for communication between veterans and youth, preserving the continuity of generations and fostering a respectful attitude towards the history of the country.

      — Such projects help unite people of different generations, preserve historical memory, and instill in the youth respect for the feats of the defenders of the Fatherland. It is important for us to support the initiatives of the city veterans organization and create opportunities for the joint participation of children, youth, and the older generation in patriotic events, — emphasized Boris Vesnin.

      The chairperson of the Kirov City Veterans Organization, Larisa Kopysova, noted that the Azimov team and Boris Vesnin personally have been attentive to the initiatives of the veteran community for many years and provide support for socially significant projects.

      — It is very important for us that this interaction is constant. Thanks to this support, it is possible to implement projects that unite veterans and youth, help preserve historical memory, and strengthen the connection between generations.

      As part of the project, district Gatherings of Generations were also held, events dedicated to Victory Day, participation of veterans and schoolchildren in the opening of the "Hero's Party" in the city's educational institutions, as well as a conference "Faces of Heroes Through the Eyes of Children."
