The Legislative Assembly Committee approved a law on the education of children from large families and participants of the Special Military Operation.

      At the meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee, a bill was considered that amends the law "On Education in the Kirov Region." It was proposed to adopt it in two readings.

      The bill, among other things, states that participants in the special military operation who have received secondary vocational education will have the right to obtain a second secondary vocational education in a different specialty. The training will be funded by the regional budget.

      In addition, the bill introduces a new support measure. Starting from September 1, 2026, parents or legal representatives of children from large families will be able to receive compensation for the paid education of their child in a secondary vocational education institution. But only if there was no opportunity to enroll there for free. The explanatory note states that last year there were 60 such students in the region, most of whom studied for a fee to become dentists and pharmacists, but there were also those who studied to become land planners, dog handlers, mechanics, financiers, advertisers, stylists, graphic designers, and other specialties. According to preliminary estimates, 3.2 million rubles will be needed to pay for the education of such students.

      The committee supported the bill. The final decision will be made at the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly.
