The judo tournament in memory of Fyodor Treshchev took place in Vyatskiye Polyany.
In the traditional interregional tournament, more than 280 athletes from the Kirov region, Izhevsk, Nizhnekamsk, Yelabuga, and Perm Krai participated. The participants of the tournament were welcomed by a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the president of the Judo Federation of the Kirov region, Oleg Valenchuk. "I am sincerely glad that the city of labor glory, Vyatskie Polyany, has the honorable and responsible mission of hosting guests and athletes. I am convinced that holding such competitions contributes to the patriotic education of youth and, of course, will serve the development of children's and youth sports, the rise of new judo stars to the podium. Such tournaments are a good starting platform for young athletes; they help improve professional skills and strengthen friendly ties between sports communities from different regions," noted Oleg Valenchuk. After the opening of the tournament, honored guests, cadets, and young athletes laid flowers at the monument to F.I. Treshchev. The competitions took place on 3 tatami, and all athletes demonstrated a high level of skill, character, and excellent preparation. In the individual competition, the students of coaches Yuri Panagushin and Ivan Simonov from the judo and sambo club "RANDORI" (Vyatskie Polyany and Sosnovka) performed very confidently. They won 5 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Additionally, individual prizes were awarded based on the tournament results: in the nomination "The Shortest Match" – to Artem Grukhin (Kirov); in the nomination "For Will to Win" – to Mikhail Laptev (Sovetsk); in the nomination "Best Technique" – to Andrei Borovinsky (Kirovo-Chepetsk).
