Kirov volunteers shared how they searched for a teenager in the forest at night.
According to representatives of the search and rescue team "Lisa Alert," a teenager recently went missing in the Kirov region. He went on a hike but did not return. The situation was complicated by the fact that during the day, the boy's phone died, making it impossible to contact him.
While volunteers were preparing to leave, the police arrived at the scene with dog handlers and drones, but they had no results. The searchers split into several groups that went to explore the area where the teenager was likely located.
"It was only possible to get closer to the entry point on foot or by scooter; cars could not pass," the team reported. "So we sent one walking group to work on the response, while we tried to approach from the other side: the road took about an hour and a half. Upon arrival, the second group set out to meet the first."
The search continued until nightfall. It was cold, and the volunteers were very worried about the boy. Meanwhile, the police continued to launch drones, but this still yielded no results.
"As long as conditions allowed working with a thermal imager, the police pilots launched a drone and inspected the nearest area; they discovered several destroyed buildings and roads that were not visible on maps, which required verification by foot groups," the searchers shared.
In the morning, search participants went to interview residents of the village through which the boy might have passed. Meanwhile, the parent of one of the missing boy's friends reported new information — it turned out that shortly before his phone died, the teenager sent a photo of the area where he was located. This helped to adjust the search area.
The searchers decided to drop several groups into this area. However, they did not have time — at one point, the missing boy himself came out to them, hearing voices and the noise of equipment. "The joy was overwhelming — we gave him hot tea, checked his well-being, and returned him to his parents," the "Lisa Alert" team reported.
It should be noted that in May, the volunteers of the team published only one alert about the missing teenager. This concerns a 14-year-old boy who was searched for in the Kumen district. He went missing on May 10 and was found on the morning of the 11th. It is likely that this is the same case.
