Has the Kirov region forgotten about its representation in Moscow?
As we wrote earlier, at the end of 2025, the first competition for the acquisition of a new representative office of the Kirov region in Moscow was announced. 250 million rubles were allocated for this, but no potential participants came forward. In January, a second competition was launched, with a smaller amount (228 million rubles) and more modest requirements. But this time, the authorities faced failure again — no one wanted to sell a building in the capital to them.
Now it is almost mid-May, and more than three months have passed since the last competition. However, new competitions have not appeared on the state procurement website, and the money is likely lying idle.
Let us remind you that Kirov deputies, in particular, deputy of the Legislative Assembly Albert Bikaluk, have repeatedly and very actively tried to persuade the regional leadership not to purchase a new representative office, but to allocate this money for social needs, such as feeding children or payments to labor veterans. However, Governor Alexander Sokolov and his subordinates repeatedly stated that the representative office is extremely necessary for the region and that its purchase is a long-resolved issue.
It even led to conflicts — for example, once Sokolov called Bikaluk's next speech about the representative office "petty demagoguery." It remains to be guessed why the authorities have forgotten about their plans. And how they manage without real estate in the capital, coming there to negotiate, for example, about increasing the region's recognition or developing tourism.
