At Kirovskaya CHPP-4, a major overhaul of boiler unit No. 10 has begun. As reported by "T Plus," the work is being carried out as part of the preparation of equipment for the upcoming heating season.
Specialists have already completed repairs on the gas supply system of the boiler, as well as cleaning the heating surfaces and high-pressure fittings. By June 12, the energy workers are expected to carry out a large volume of additional work.
In particular, it is planned to repair the dust systems, burner devices, air supply mechanisms, and equipment for ash and slag removal. Special attention will be paid to systems related to fuel supply and flue gas removal.
At CHPP-4, the boilers can operate on several types of fuel simultaneously — natural gas, fuel oil, coal, and peat.
As part of the repairs, specialists will also check the condition of the metal of the steam bypass pipes and heating surfaces. Worn areas will be replaced. In addition, repairs to thermal insulation, electrical equipment, and automation systems are planned.
The company noted that the reliable operation of the boilers is essential for the stable operation of the station during the autumn-winter period.
During the inter-heating season, repairs to other boilers, turbines, and chimneys are also planned at CHPP-4. A major overhaul of turbo unit No. 2 is scheduled to begin in July.
