The 104-year-old war veteran Nina Kositskaya has passed away: she did not live to see Victory Day by a few days.
In January of this year, on her birthday, Nina Mikhailovna shared her plans to live until Victory Day, but she was unable to do so — she did not survive just a few days until May 9. This was reported on her social media page by the head of the city of Slobodskoye, Irina Zhelvakova.
Nina Kositskaya was born in 1922. During the war, she served on the 1st Belarusian Front, worked in a medical battalion, sorted the wounded, and participated in combat operations up to the storming of Berlin. For her merits, she was awarded the Orders of the Red Star, the Patriotic War II degree, and a number of medals.
After the war, she worked for more than 30 years as a district pediatrician in Slobodskoye, dedicating herself to the care of children.
