Rabies found near Vyatskiye Polyany

      A focus of dangerous infection has been recorded in the village of Nizhnie Shuni in the Sredneshunskoe rural settlement. The corresponding decree was signed by the governor of the region. The situation was discussed on May 4 at a meeting of the emergency anti-epizootic commission in the district administration. Residents were reminded of precautionary measures. First and foremost, this concerns the vaccination of pets: specialists emphasize that vaccinations are mandatory even for pets that do not leave the house. Additionally, in the case of bites, scratches, or contact with animal saliva on the skin, it is necessary to seek medical help immediately — rabies poses a deadly threat. Residents are also asked to avoid contact with wild and stray animals and to report instances of their inadequate behavior or the discovery of dead animals to veterinary services. Quarantine measures will be in effect in the area until further notice.
