The runway repair in Pobedilovo has officially started.

      At Kirov's Pobedilovo airport, repairs have begun on the runway. Initially, the work was scheduled for April 22, but the weather made adjustments — the start was postponed by 14 days. From May 4, the contractor is milling the old surface and laying fresh asphalt in the aircraft parking area. According to Alexey Petryakov, Deputy Chairman of the Kirov Region Government, there is a large volume of tasks ahead: relaying 16 kilometers of light-signal communications, replacing the drainage system and wells. A total of 190,000 square meters of asphalt surface will be updated. The work is planned to be completed in the shortest possible time. Pobedilovo has been included in the list of ten Russian airports that received federal funding under the national project "Efficient Transport System." For the repairs, a high-strength asphalt mixture is required. A new mobile plant has been set up for its production, which will be moved to another road project in the region after the work is completed. Control over each stage is conducted by specialized organizations — laboratory tests are being carried out. Construction materials and special equipment have been prepared in advance. During the repairs, for the convenience of passengers, the regional transport ministry has worked on increasing the number of carriages in trains and buses traveling from Kirov to other cities. After the runway is updated, they plan to enhance flight safety and open new routes.
