Sokolov plans to bring Uzbeks to the Kirov region.
As reported by Governor Alexander Sokolov at an operational meeting, the region has begun work on creating its first international route — with Uzbekistan. At the same time, this year plans are in place to expand interregional routes. The list includes Crimea, the Komi Republic, Tatarstan, and the Chelyabinsk region.
Currently, there are 25 tourist routes operating in the region, almost half of which were developed last year. Thematic trips on retro trains to Slobodskoy and Lyangasovo continue to operate. There is also consideration for expanding routes to include Kirovo-Chepetsk and Yurya with transfers to Velikoretsky.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Denis Pestrikov, this year the region has already welcomed four tourist trains from different regions of Russia. Tourists visited the sights of Kirov and participated in excursions.
Additionally, navigation on the Vyatka River started on May 3. The riverboat "Alexander Benois" arrived in Vyatskie Polyany with 120 tourists. An excursion and cultural program was prepared for the guests. Two more riverboats — "Boris Polevoy" and "Vasily Chapayev" — are expected to arrive soon.
In the future, authorities plan to develop river tourism in Kirov — after deepening the bottom of the Vyatka River, recreational routes may appear here.
