Not for resorts: 47% of Kirov residents will stay home during the May holidays
The May holidays of 2026 turned out to be short — just two segments of three days each (from May 1 to 3 and from May 9 to 11). Analysts from SuperJob decided to find out how economically active residents of Kirov would spend this short time.
The main trend is staying at home. Almost half of those surveyed (47%) stated that they would not go anywhere and would spend the holidays within four walls. Another 16% will head to their dacha or village — a traditional May option, which, however, turned out to be only in second place.
Meanwhile, 13% of Kirov residents will not rest at all: they will have to go to work. Here, the statistics divided the city dwellers by gender. Men turned out to be much more "labor-oriented" — 17% of them will spend the holidays on duty, while among women, only 10% will do so.
Nature lovers and barbecue enthusiasts also found their place in the survey: 6% of city residents plan to go outdoors. Another 4% will dare to travel within Russia. Other activities (foreign trips, hosting guests, fishing) each garnered 1%.
When it came to destinations, Kirov residents who decided to travel showed predictability. The top 5 domestic tourism destinations included St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Sochi, and Kaliningrad. Among foreign countries, Turkey, Egypt, Thailand, Bali, and Georgia lead the way.

Not for resorts: 47% of Kirov residents will stay home during the May holidays
This year, most residents of the regional center will spend the short three-day weekends without leaving the city. Every second resident of Kirov chooses their home sofa or television, and men have to work during the holidays almost twice as often as women.
