Drones found 63 hectares of "lost" fields in the Slobodsky district.
In the Slobodsky District of the Kirov Region, unscheduled field inspections of agricultural land were completed on April 23, 2026, by specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kirov Region, Udmurtia, and the Perm Krai. The main feature of the raid was the widespread use of drones — it was from the air that the actual condition of four plots totaling 63 hectares was quickly assessed.
The picture captured by the UAV cameras was bleak: the entire land was completely covered with perennial weeds, as well as tree and shrub overgrowth. No signs of agricultural processing or livestock grazing were found — the plots have simply "been conserved" by nature. At the same time, formally the land belongs to the category of agricultural land and should be used for production.
As the inspectors found out, the owners of the neglected lands are four citizens. Each of them now bears the burden of responsibility for restoring fertility and clearing the fields of wild vegetation. The local Rosselkhoznadzor administration reminds that according to Articles 13 and 42 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation, owners are obliged not only to use the plots for their intended purpose but also to combat overgrowth — otherwise, the degradation of the land as a natural object is inevitable.
Following the inspection, the agency did not immediately fine the citizens. Instead, a decision was made to issue warnings to each of the owners about the inadmissibility of violations. If the situation does not change and the fields continue to overgrow, stricter measures will follow. For now, the residents of Kirov have time to bring the land back into circulation — before it is completely engulfed by forest and shrubs.

Unmanned aviation helped inspectors discover four large agricultural plots in the Kirov region that have effectively fallen out of circulation. Instead of sown areas, there are forests and weeds, and individual owners risk receiving official warnings.
