The incomes of officials, their wives, and children will now be calculated together.

      The main innovation: when calculating the income of officials and their family members, the total income of the official, their spouse, and minor children will now be taken into account.

      At the same time, the income of the spouse received before marriage to the official is not considered. However, it may be voluntarily indicated as a source of funds used for expenses related to large transactions. The law also clarifies that transactions made before appointment to the position or before marriage are not subject to control and cannot be the basis for the confiscation of property for state revenue. The new procedure comes into effect on September 1, 2026.

      Let us remind you that on December 29, 2022, the President signed a decree that temporarily suspended the mandatory publication of information about the income, expenses, and property of officials on the internet and in the media during the special military operation. And by federal law dated December 28, 2025, the obligation for officials to publish their declarations on the internet and provide them to the media was abolished, not only temporarily (during the period of the special military operation) but also permanently.
