The Kotelnich Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region has completed the investigation of a criminal case against an 18-year-old resident of Kotelnich. He was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rehabilitation of Nazism).
In August 2025, the defendant was at a military memorial with the Eternal Flame in Kotelnich. In the presence of bystanders, he demonstrated a Nazi salute, recorded it on his mobile phone, and then published the recording in an open community in a messenger. Later, he repeated the gesture. The criminal activity was uncovered by employees of the FSB of Russia for the Kirov Region.
The court sentenced the young man to one year of conditional imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years. In addition, he is prohibited from engaging in activities related to website administration and posting materials on the internet for two years.
