IT and "techies" showed a slight increase: parents from Kirov made the choice for the graduates of 2026.
Analysts from SuperJob have summarized the results of a parental survey regarding which professions are currently considered the most promising for graduates of 2026. The main conclusion is that the structure of priorities is changing without sharp jumps, but with a clear trend towards practicality. Among parents whose children are finishing 11th grade, 66% intend to send them to universities. Another 14% consider colleges as the main option. In the segment of ninth graders, the picture is different: 52% of parents stated that their children will go to colleges or vocational schools after the 9th grade. The rest either plan to stay in school until the 11th grade or have not yet made a decision.
As for specific fields, among future university applicants, two areas lead — engineering and medicine. Each received 17% of parental votes. Experts describe this as a planned adjustment rather than a boom: the increase compared to previous measurements was insignificant but stable. Following closely are IT specialties with 15%, which are losing their monopoly leadership but maintaining high demand.
Rounding out the top five university preferences are linguists and translators (10%), as well as lawyers and teachers (9% each). PR and economics received 5% — parents have noticeably cooled towards these fields.
In the system of colleges and vocational schools, the situation is different. Here, IT is not just at the top, but with a clear lead: 21% of respondents stated that their children will go into programming or related specialties. In second place are skilled trades in construction and manufacturing (16%), and third is medicine (15%). Notably, pedagogy (11%) and law with purely construction-related fields (9% each) also made the list of in-demand professions, but their share, according to analysts, is increasing very slowly, almost within the limits of statistical error.
