Almost 40 billion: it became known how much the residents of the Volga Federal District have saved.

      Savings of residents in the Volga Federal District have noticeably increased. According to Rosselkhozbank, the total volume of deposits and savings accounts has exceeded 39 billion rubles.

      According to the bank, over the year, the portfolio increased by about a third — from 29.5 to 39.49 billion rubles. In just the first three months of 2026, the growth was over 16%. During this same period, depositors earned nearly 820 million rubles in interest.

      The strongest growth in savings over the year was observed in the Penza and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as in the Perm Krai and several other regions. At the same time, growth was recorded in all subjects of the district without exception.

      In the Kirov region, savings also increased — by 16.8% over the year. The total volume of deposits here reached 4.58 billion rubles. In the first quarter, the increase was 6.1%.

      Moreover, residents of the Kirov region have become among the leaders in income from deposits. From January to March, they were credited with more than 108 million rubles in interest — one of the highest figures in the district.

      Experts note that interest in savings remains even against the backdrop of declining rates, and residents of the regions continue to actively use banking instruments to preserve and increase their funds.
