The sentence in the case of the death of an 18-year-old girl in a car accident has come into force.
The traffic accident occurred on August 3, 2025, in the village of Nagorsk. As established by the court, a 21-year-old driver of a "Lada Bogdan 2110," while in a state of alcohol intoxication and without a driver's license, lost control, veered off the road, and hit a pedestrian. The girl died from her injuries.
The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in prison to be served in a general regime colony. He was also deprived of the right to drive vehicles for 3 years. The convicted man was sent to serve his sentence under escort.
In addition, he was ordered to pay compensation of 2 million rubles to the mother of the deceased. The offender's vehicle was confiscated.
The sentence was appealed by the defense, but the appellate court upheld it without changes.
The prosecutor's office noted that the driver had previously violated traffic rules multiple times — he had been held administratively liable at least 22 times, and in 2024 he had already been convicted of a similar crime.
