Kirov Oblast has entered the top three leaders in the Volga Federal District in terms of birth rate.
In March, Kirov Region rose to third place in the Volga Federal District in terms of the total birth rate coefficient. By this indicator, the region also entered the top twenty in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
It is noted that in recent years, there has been an increase in the share of firstborns in the region. If in 2023 it accounted for 36.7% of the total number of births, by 2025 it reached 40.5%.
Currently, the region has 38 support measures for families with children, of which 16 are aimed at large families. Assistance is provided for every second child.
It is also reported that the region is considering the introduction of additional support measures. In particular, the possibility of payments for the birth of a second and subsequent children with a short interval is being discussed.
