The shortage of doctors and salespeople has driven salaries in the Kirov region up to 63,500.
In the Kirov region, another jump in salaries has been recorded against the backdrop of a severe shortage of personnel. Analysts, summarizing the results of the first spring month, state that the average offered income in the region has reached 63,500 rubles. This is 12% higher than last year's figures. Notably, job seekers themselves have started to value their work more highly—their salary expectations have increased by almost a fifth over the year, reaching 59,000 rubles.
However, behind the numbers lies a troubling trend. The demand for employees in several industries is so high that there is a catastrophic shortage of available hands. The most severe staffing crisis is observed in the healthcare system: here, there are only 2.7 potential workers for one vacancy. The situation is almost as acute in retail and the service sector—3.8 resumes for one position, which is below the physiological market norm (4–7.9 resumes).
In total, nearly 5,000 new jobs were opened in the region over the month. Surprisingly, the leader in the number of vacancies was not the manufacturing sector, but the sales and customer service block: managers and sales consultants accounted for 14% of the total demand (7% for each category). Next are couriers with 5% of vacancies, followed by laborers and drivers. The top five most in-demand also includes accountants, cooks, doctors, installers, and packers.
Experts link the rise in salaries specifically to competition for low-skilled and line personnel: employers are forced to reconsider financial conditions to somehow fill gaps in their staffing. For comparison, the average salary across the Volga Federal District today is 70,000 rubles—Kirov region is still lagging behind this level but is closing the gap faster than its neighbors. 49% of residents in the Volga Federal District follow the social media of employees from their dream companies. 58% of Kirov residents admitted to slacking off at work. Kirov women have increasingly been suffering serious injuries at work.
