The debt of the Kirov region has been written off — more than 1 billion rubles.

      In the document signed by Mikhail Mishustin, it is stated "in accordance with part 17 of article 15 of the Federal Law 'On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation, on the Suspension of Certain Provisions of Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation and on the Establishment of Features of Budget Execution of the Budget System of the Russian Federation in 2026' to write off the debt <...> of the Kirov Region <...> to the Russian Federation, which has accumulated as of March 1, 2024, on budget loans.

      According to the appendix to the order, the Kirov Region will have 1 billion 358 million 252 thousand 79 rubles 45 kopecks written off.

      In addition to Kirov, debts will also be written off for 10 other regions of Russia.

      We remind you that on Monday, April 6, it became known that the Kirov Region plans to take a loan of two billion rubles: the regional finance ministry is looking for organizations that will provide a service in the form of a revolving credit line to finance the regional budget deficit. The starting price for the two contracts is 299.8 million rubles, the money is allocated from the regional budget. Applications are accepted until April 13, 2026.

      The debt limit for the revolving credit line in both cases will be 1 billion rubles, as reported on the state procurement website. The funds will be provided within 609 calendar days from the date of contract signing. We remind you that as of March 1, the state debt of the Kirov Region amounted to 28.8 billion rubles. The budget for 2026 was adopted with a deficit of 2.69 billion rubles.
