Alexander Sokolov signed law No. 488-ZO, which amends Article 2 of the regional law "On Holidays and Commemorative Dates of Kirov Region." The document was adopted by the Legislative Assembly of the region on March 26, 2026.
According to the new edition, the following holidays are established in Kirov Region:
January 23 — Day of Large Families;
March 27 — Day of the Charter of Kirov Region;
May 19 — Day of Children's Associations;
May 20 — Day of Labor Valor;
June 30 — Day of the Flag of Kirov Region;
July 1 — Day of Veterans of Combat Actions;
August 29 — Day of the Coat of Arms of Kirov Region;
September 22 — Day of the Foundation of the City of Kirov (Khlynov — Vyatka — Kirov);
November 16 — Day of Trade Unions;
December 5 — Day of Kirov Region.
The law comes into force ten days after its official publication. The text of the document was published on April 7, 2026, signed by the governor. The previous version of the law, in effect since 2024, is repealed due to the adoption of the new list.
