Forecasters scared Kirov residents with frost down to -3 and icy conditions.
Employees of the Kirov Central Hydrometeorological Service have released updated data for the next three days. According to the forecast from duty meteorologist L.E. Palapina, residents of the regional center can expect a sharp change in weather "decorations."
If on Wednesday, April 8, it will still be possible to enjoy spring warmth up to +1°C and rare breaks in the clouds during the day, by night the weather will begin to change. The first signs of deterioration will appear on Thursday: thermometer readings will drop, and rain will be accompanied by snow. The most contrasting day will be Friday.
A surprise for motorists will be the road conditions. On the morning of April 10, the city is expected to have icy conditions—a rare occurrence this season. Meteorologists advise both drivers and pedestrians to be extremely cautious.
The wind will also make adjustments to the plans of the city's residents. While on Wednesday its gusts will be within a comfortable 4–10 m/s, by Thursday and Friday the northeast flow will strengthen to 11–16 m/s, making being outdoors quite uncomfortable.
The peak of bad weather, according to forecasts, will occur on the night from Thursday to Friday. During this time, Kirov is expected to experience not just precipitation, but moderate snow transitioning to wet snow, with temperatures dropping to -3°C. On Friday, temperatures will only warm up to +5…+7°C during the day, and snow will change to light rain.
Experts remind us: such weather is typical for April, but it requires increased caution from residents and the choice of appropriate gear—it's better not to put the umbrella too far away this week, and it's still too early to give up the winter jacket.
