The Kirov beetles were almost sent to the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On March 24, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor inspected the activities of a company trading timber from the Oparinsky district. During the inspection of 52 cubic meters of spruce, pine, and fir, it was found that it contained quarantine pests — the large black spruce bark beetle, the black pine bark beetle, and the small black spruce bark beetle. At the same time, the company did not take measures to isolate the infected trees from others and did not notify the Rosselkhoznadzor about this.

      It is noted that the trees were supposed to be transported to the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result, the company was held administratively liable under Article 10.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. A fine was imposed on it, the regional office of the Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
