Sokolov ordered to prepare for fires.

      At the meeting, Governor Alexander Sokolov announced the issuance of an order to ensure fire safety during the spring-summer period. According to him, last year the authorities performed well — only 64 forest fires were registered, which is four times less than in 2024, so in 2026, it is necessary to continue working in the same spirit.

      The head of the region urged his subordinates to organize community clean-up days to remove debris that could theoretically catch fire, to establish fire barriers and fire ponds where they do not yet exist, to implement thorough monitoring of natural and landscape fires, and to conduct preventive work. Sokolov added that, in extreme cases, a special fire safety regime would be established in the region, introducing restrictions for local residents.
