A 90-year-old resident of Kirov was back on her feet after two strokes.

In January, a woman felt numbness in her arm and called an ambulance. She was hospitalized in the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital. Her condition was serious. The patient's daughter, Lyudmila, recalls: the doctors said that everything depended on her mother herself.

Rehabilitation began even in the intensive care unit: a speech therapist worked on restoring swallowing and speech, while physical therapy instructors and massage therapists strengthened her muscles. Then the patient was transferred to the Medical Rehabilitation Center.

The head of the department promised: "I will teach her to walk." At first, the woman could not move either her leg or her arm — only her fingers. But after almost a month of training with a multidisciplinary team, she learned to sit up, stand, exercise on machines, and then walk down the corridor with support.

Now, Anfisa Filippovna has been discharged home. She moves with a cane (she refused the walker), takes care of herself, and follows the doctors' recommendations. Her daughter admits: this is a real miracle, and they have big plans for the future.

It should be noted that in February we wrote about how a 98-year-old patient with a complex hip fracture was treated in Kirov.
