The tick season has begun: residents of the Kirov region are warned about the danger of encephalitis.
The infection affects the central nervous system and can lead to severe consequences. Among the main symptoms are a high temperature of up to 39–40 degrees, severe headache, sometimes with vomiting, muscle and joint pain, weakness, and pronounced fatigue.
Patients may also experience coordination disorders, decreased attention and memory, vision and hearing problems, and in severe cases — seizures, loss of consciousness, and paralysis.
Residents of the region, especially those who spend time outdoors, are advised to take precautions: wear protective clothing, use repellents, and carefully check themselves after walks.
Hunters and anyone who frequently visits the forest are asked to exercise particular vigilance.
