The students of "Proryv" from Sosnovka will play in the football final in Sochi.
A regional stage of the children's tournament took place in Yekaterinburg. The Kirov region was represented not by an ordinary sports school, but by the "Proryv" team from the Children's Assistance Center in the city of Sosnovka. The result exceeded expectations: victory in both the junior and senior age groups.
The athletes have proven their strength before. A year ago, they already took gold among juniors and silver among seniors. Now the guys have taken a step forward, leaving their opponents with no chance.
"Try not to miss training. As it turned out, everything is possible! You can achieve anything if you strive and work towards your goal," shared the mentor of "Proryv," Ayrat Gabidullin.
The organizers arranged a real sports holiday for the young footballers. Immediately after the final matches, the winners played a friendly match against the "Olymp" team. Among them were Ivan Alypov, a bronze medalist in cross-country skiing at the Vancouver Olympics, and Andrey Rozhkov, an actor from the "Ural Pelmeni" show.
The program was not limited to football. Participants attended a basketball match between "Uralmash" and "Pari Nizhny Novgorod," and went through career orientation at "SkillCity." Those who tried their hand as press attachés learned the journalistic craft in workshops from sports reporters.
The charitable project, which has united children from orphanages across the country for 21 years, is organized by the company "MegaFon" with the support of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education, and the Russian Football Union.
The final of the all-Russian competitions will take place in May in Sochi. Kirov teams will take the field against the strongest peers in the country. The main prize for the tournament winners is to spend a weekend with the Russian national football team during its friendly matches in June.
