The Kirov region is preparing for flooding.
In the Kirov region's prosecutor's office, a systematic monitoring of the flood situation has been organized. The agency analyzes data from hydrological posts of the Kirov Hydrometeorology Center and interacts with executive authorities.
As of today, a list of settlements that may fall into the flood zone has been formed. There are 35 temporary accommodation points planned for the displaced, with a total capacity of over 5,500 people. For evacuation, 109 vehicles and 64 watercraft are planned to be used.
The prosecutor of the Kirov region, Yuri Ryvaev, instructed to strengthen oversight of flood preparedness, noting that delays in such conditions could lead to harm for residents and worsen the sanitary and epidemiological situation.
As part of the inspections, an assessment of municipalities' readiness for flooding will be conducted, including the legality of adopted legal acts, organization of public alerts, evacuation, and temporary accommodation of citizens.
Particular attention is paid to compliance with water and land legislation, placement of facilities in coastal areas, as well as the readiness of temporary accommodation points — their equipment and provision of all necessary supplies.
In addition, the prosecutor's office monitors issues of medical services, fire safety, and provision of residents with water, food, and essential items. The results of the inspections are under special control of the agency.
