According to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov region, the tragedy occurred on the evening of December 2 of last year in the village of Shevyrtalovo. A man, while in a state of intoxication, had an argument with a 62-year-old acquaintance. During the conflict, he struck the victim several times on the head with a metal object, after which he fled the scene. The man died from his injuries shortly thereafter. The investigation gathered sufficient evidence confirming the guilt of the accused. The court found him guilty under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment in a special regime correctional colony.
