Sokolov showed Malofeeva the future temple.
As Vadim Fedotov, a representative of the construction company "Rost," explained, 220 piles have been driven in so far. "On April 7, we will begin the expertise, after which the foundation work will commence," he reported. Guests were also welcomed by Archpriest Vyatsky and the secretary of the diocese, Vitaly Lapshin. The head of the Kirov administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, arrived "on his own," but did not participate in the presentation itself.
Sokolov gladly took on the role of tour guide. He reminded (with the help of the archpriest) that the original church, built in 1915, was dismantled in 1962, and the wooden chapel that stood in its place later burned down in 2022. "We decided that we would restore not the burned one, but the real one. The one that was here at the beginning," the governor explained.
Malofeev showed particular interest in the model. He noted the correctness of having flags on the models. In response, there was loud laughter from Sokolov and a phrase that was hard to make out, but the meaning was clear: "Everything is correct here; after all, I am dealing with this issue!"
They then discussed the color of the future church. Sokolov mentioned that the bricks are local, and the color was chosen "by the whole community" — with the participation of the wives of the SVO and Orthodox organizations. Two models were presented at the stand: dark and light. The governor chose the light one. "It will be somewhat yellowish in color," Sokolov explained.
Lapshin reported that the church will be two stories: the main room on top and a Sunday school and offices below. It will accommodate approximately 300 to 500 people. There will be several domes, and their shape, according to Sokolov, is unique for the Kirov region — "like a burning candle." "This is a Charushin story, how the candles look," the governor emphasized.
After a brief presentation, Sokolov hurriedly drove Malofeev away in his car — just as swiftly as he had brought him.
