More than 20 VPNs have been removed from the Russian App Store.
More than 20 VPN services have been removed from the Russian segment of the App Store. As reported by "Kommersant," this happened at the request of Roskomnadzor.
According to sources, at least one of the developers received a notification from Apple. It stated that the applications contained content that violated Russian legislation, and therefore they were removed from the store for users in Russia. It is noted that for account holders registered in other countries, these same services remain available.
Roskomnadzor continues to restrict the operation of VPNs. As of the end of February 2026, 469 such services have already been blocked in Russia.
Meanwhile, the State Duma states that a complete ban on VPNs in the country is not planned. However, restrictions will continue regarding those services that do not comply with legal requirements — in particular, those that do not restrict access to prohibited websites.
Recall that since the fall of 2025, there has also been a ban on advertising circumvention tools in Russia. For legal entities, fines for such violations can reach 500,000 rubles.
