A GOST standard for pies will be introduced in Russia.
In Russia, plans are underway to develop new GOSTs for bakery products — this includes pies, pasties, and puff pastry products. As reported by RBC, the work is being carried out as part of the national standardization program for 2026.
According to Rosstandart, the future standards should establish uniform quality requirements for the products while preserving traditional recipes and taking into account modern production technologies.
The development of GOSTs will take place in several stages: project preparation, public discussion (for at least 60 days), revision, and expertise. Representatives from the industry, scientific organizations, and relevant authorities will participate in the process.
It is noted that, at this time, the draft standards have not yet been submitted to the agency.
Earlier, it was reported that from April 1, 2026, the updated GOST for white bread will come into effect in Russia. It expands the requirements for the appearance of products and allows for the production of bread with a lower weight than before.
