In Strizhi, goats are kept in the "dump" and released for free grazing.
Recently, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kirov Region issued a warning to a woman who is the owner of goats. According to the agency, the staff conducted an on-site inspection regarding a resident of Strizhi, who keeps goats in an outbuilding located on her property.
During the inspection, it was found that the woman does not comply with the mandatory requirements of veterinary legislation in the Russian Federation. In particular, the inspection showed that the land area where the goats are kept is cluttered with construction and household waste: bricks, ropes, plastic bags, boards, and barrels. On the personal subsidiary farm's land, five rolls of hay are stored outdoors. And on the roadway, 12 goats are freely grazing.
"In accordance with the Veterinary Rules for the keeping of sheep and goats for the purposes of their reproduction, breeding, and sale, small ruminants must be kept in livestock premises located on a fenced territory. Hay and straw must be stored in stacks, under shelters, in feed storage rooms, and/or in the attics of livestock premises.
Furthermore, according to information from the KOGBU 'Orichevskaya District Veterinary Station', the goats kept on the property have not undergone mandatory preventive measures and diagnostic studies in 2025-2026," the agency reported.
The goat owner has been issued a warning.
