The graduate of "Olympia," coach Denis Lozhkin, has passed away.
"This morning, at the age of 54, Denis Yuryevich Lozhkin, a graduate of Kirovo-Chepetsk hockey, former player of the master team, and coach of the hockey school 'Olympia,' passed away unexpectedly," the club's website reported.
They noted that Denis Yuryevich's entire life was connected with hockey. He was born into a coach's family and was introduced to hockey at an early age. Over the years, he played for the clubs 'Olympia,' 'Dynamo-2' (Moscow), 'Dynamo' (Minsk), SHVSM (Kyiv), CSKA-2, CSKA, 'Kapitan' (Stupino), and teams in Germany.
As part of the junior national team of the USSR, Denis Lozhkin won silver at the European Championship, and as part of the USSR-2 team, he became the winner of the prestigious international tournament for the prize of the newspaper 'Leningradskaya Pravda.' After finishing his sports career, he worked as a coach at the 'Olympia' sports school and in sports schools in Tatarstan. A few years ago, he returned to his hometown of Kirovo-Chepetsk.
