      Employees of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov garrison checked whether men of conscription age who recently obtained Russian citizenship had registered for military service. According to the law, this must be done within two weeks — but, as practice shows, not everyone follows this rule.

      Such raids are conducted regularly: they check markets, construction sites, bases, and other places where former foreign citizens work. This time, according to the security forces, no violators were found in the market — individuals who had previously come under scrutiny are already registered for military service.

      However, the overall situation in the region is less favorable: since the beginning of the year, several dozen citizens have been found in the Kirov region who ignored the legal requirements. They have been registered.
