"Rust kills the filters": residents of Ilyinskoye complain about the water

      Residents of the village of Ilyinskoye (population - about 1000 people) are once again complaining about the quality of water from the centralized water supply. More than 100 houses and five social institutions are connected to the system, but locals have not dared to drink tap water for many years.

      In March 2026, one of the villagers showed activists from the People's Front what happens to the filters after contact with local water. With low pressure, cartridges need to be changed approximately every two weeks. A thick sediment forms in the cartridge. But even new filters do not save the situation - the water remains cloudy and yellowish after purification.

      Residents have contacted Rospotrebnadzor, and specialists confirmed: the water does not meet the standards for turbidity. The contractor servicing the networks is accommodating and periodically makes recalculations. However, as people note, the quality of the water does not change with the recalculation of payments.

      Public activists are investigating the situation. The head of the regional branch of the People's Front, Valeria Cheremisina, noted that the reason is likely outdated treatment facilities.

      "Unfortunately, a systemic solution to this problem will not be quick. The district budget cannot handle the repair of the water intake. We will have to wait for help from the regional government. Meanwhile, since the problem is not being resolved, and people are forced to spend money on both purchasing water and filters, the authorities should act honestly - regularly make recalculations of payments," said the head of the regional branch of the People's Front, Valeria Cheremisina.

      The People's Front has already sent a request to the prosecutor's office demanding to investigate the situation.

      History of the issue

      The problem with water quality in Ilyinskoye has been ongoing for several years. In November 2025, Newsler.ru reported on complaints from local residents. At that time, people said that filters clog within a couple of weeks, and the water remains yellow even after purification. Rospotrebnadzor specialists confirmed violations of standards.

      In December 2025, after another wave of complaints and intervention from public activists, the filters at the water intake were cleaned and the networks were flushed. Residents were even given a recalculation of payments for cold and hot water. But the effect turned out to be temporary: by February 2026, the yellowness returned. According to the villagers, the water again resembles lemonade in color.
