Police Curiosities: The head of the Sosnovka police reported to the defendant on the results of the annual service.

      On February 27, last Friday, the head of the "Sosnovskoye" police department, Major Natalia Kostina, reported to the head of the Sosnovka Duma, Nail Saitov, on the results of the service for the year 2025 of the department entrusted to her.

      What was referred to in the ranks of law enforcement, especially among those who consider themselves part of the "old guard," as "police inferno," since Nail Gabdulfatovich has been sitting on the defendants' bench since January 27, accused of "abuse of official powers, resulting in serious consequences." This manifested in the damage caused, which amounts to 80 million rubles. The sanction for this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is up to 10 years of "strict registration" in places of residence in one of the penitentiary system's cells.

      However, the local population does not believe in a "fair verdict" and even speaks of an acquittal for the most well-known "builder of the garbage house" in the region, as Nail Saitov still considers himself the "right hand" of Ravil Nurgaliev. Who, besides owning the Vyatskopolyansky plant "Molot-Oruzhiye," is a current deputy of the Legislative Assembly. And he fancies himself the "governor's right hand."

      However, optimists believe that the personal curator of the criminal case regarding the "garbage house," Alexander Bastrykin (head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation), will not overlook the verdict of the Vyatskopolyanskaya Themis.

      Report is not a report

      The defendant, having listened quite favorably to Major Kostina's report, where, for the most part, the investigations of the Sosnovka police concerned swindled and offended old women, rare "wear and tear," and robberies, as well as causing "serious bodily harm" (referring to the attack on local lawyer Igor Ronzhin, who was beaten and doused with acid on the evening of August 4), but the "fatherly intonations" ended at the moment when Nikita Gorelov — the mayor of Sosnovka began his report on the administration's work last year.

      However, the end of Saitov's benevolence was more than expected, as Gorelov, being the "main figure" in his criminal case — from the victims' side, reported facts and events in which today the "non-involvement of the police" is more often attributed not to laziness or misunderstanding in the authorities, but to "protection." For example, when Gorelov reported that the local market had finally been organized, which had not been managed by anyone since 2023 after the departure of the director of the municipal unitary enterprise "Sosnovsky," who was a protégé of the same Nail Gabdulfatovich — fled from "tax raids" and impending bankruptcy. Today, contracts have been signed with private entrepreneurs, so the payment for jobs goes into the city budget.

      At the same time, the market building functioned properly in 2023-2024, although the sellers paid their bribes in cash, probably directly into the pocket of "one well-known person." But with dozens of witnesses ready to speak about both the "tax collector" and the amounts that ended up in her pocket, the police did not see a crime in the enrichment at the expense of municipal property.

      By the way, the list of what Gorelov has accomplished in his second year of leading the city administration is more impressive than the pompous governor's report. Thus, a settlement was made with creditors, whose debts — over four million rubles — had not been paid for five years. And for non-compliance with court decisions, bailiffs regularly fined the municipality.

      The mayor also reported that last year an expert conclusion was received and a project for the repair of the bridge over Pyzhmanka was approved, which was recognized as emergency back in... 2012:

      "Here Saitov 'turned on the chainsaw' and squealed that Gorelov would not receive any money," says a witness to the meeting. "We know that last summer, the Ministry of Transport sent a guarantee letter, stating that it would allocate 90 million rubles for the repair of the crossing, which looks like a sieve — it's a sin to drive on it, but it's fine for throwing away pasta. We know that the new minister is repairing the bridge by his order on a piece of paper that says: remove the weight limit sign '3.5 tons' — it has stood for ten years, and install 28."

      Finally, a landfill of construction and household waste the size of a five-story building has been eliminated; garbage had been brought to the railway for ten years and burned annually to free up space for the next dump. The landfill was cleared, and the waste was taken to the Vyatskopolyansky landfill. At the same time, the city was cleaned, freeing Sosnovka from hundreds of tons of garbage and regular fines.

      Thirteen "road passports" were obtained — out of 107 existing roads, which had not been attempted to be given the status of "transport artery" since the appearance of Sosnovka. So today we can talk about the allocation of budget funds for the repair of the rural dirt road.

      Last year, the program for resettlement from dilapidated housing was fully implemented.

      And the most important thing the population of Sosnovka considers is that the repair and restoration of all monuments to fallen soldiers has been carried out.

      "We raised the monument to the liberating soldiers, which was once near the shipbuilding plant. We had almost forgotten what it looked like, and those younger — that it ever existed. But now it is there, and everything is as it should be — a list of those who left the plant for war, those who did not return, slabs, paving stones — a place of memory, mourning, and pride. After all, in Kirov, a whole Memorial (Pioneer Palace) still looked like ruins last summer, but now it is noticeable to the most shameless oblivion," say the residents of Sosnovka.

      By the way, if you ask how the Sosnovka Duma members assessed Nikita Gorelov's work last year, you won't be mistaken if you answer "unanimous unsatisfactory."
