Over the course of a week, fraudsters stole nearly 15 million rubles from residents of Kirov.

      This year, 116 residents of Kirov Oblast have been victimized by crimes committed using the internet and mobile communications. Fifty were victimized in the past week.

      Over the past seven days scammers stole 14.9 million rubles from Kirov residents. The total loss so far in 2026 amounted to 30.1 million rubles. Last year — more than 1.3 billion rubles.

      Most often the perpetrators impersonated employees of the prosecutor’s office, the FSB, the tax authorities, the Central Bank, the Gosuslugi portal, Russian Post and Energosbyt. Sometimes they sent victims photos of forged documents and faked the voices of their relatives and acquaintances.

      This year the regional prosecutor’s office filed 67 lawsuits seeking to recover money from droppers — people who help scammers steal victims’ savings. In the past week — 29 lawsuits.
