A woman from Kirov repaid a debt of 320,000 rubles only after being banned from traveling abroad.
As reported by the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Kirov Region, the bailiff's office was handling an enforcement proceeding to recover more than 320,000 rubles from a 33-year-old resident of the Podosinovsky District in favor of a microfinance organization. Despite official notification and being given time to repay the debt voluntarily, the woman made no attempt to settle it.
In the course of the enforcement proceedings the bailiff sent inquiries to banking and registration authorities, checked for the debtor's accounts, assets and income, and explained the possible coercive enforcement measures — from seizure of property to restriction of travel abroad.
Since the debt remained unpaid, the bailiff issued an order temporarily restricting the woman's right to leave the Russian Federation. The measure proved effective: understanding the consequences, the debtor promptly repaid the full amount of the debt, including the enforcement fee.
