Olympia won in a shootout.

      Olimpiya began its four-game homestand with a meeting against HC Dynamo-Altai (Barnaul). In recent rounds our team has not been able to boast good scoring. This time too, in regulation and overtime it was limited to just two goals.

      The second period was the most eventful. First Olimpiya equalized (the visitors had opened it in the 7th minute), and shortly after took the lead. However, the opponent quickly fought back.

      In the end everything was decided in a shootout — Olimpiya won 3-2.

      After the match Chepetsk’s head coach Mikhail Zvyagin praised his players: “Unlike the previous game, the bench was alive today. The guys wanted it, they were determined, and, perhaps, fate rewarded us. How we did it — in regulation time, in overtime, by shootout — largely doesn't matter. We earned two points; the result was achieved. Well, of course, in terms of the quality of play, physical conditioning, and many other aspects we need to reach a completely different level.”

      On Friday Olimpiya will host the VHL leader — Novokuznetsk’s Metallurg. The match starts at 19:00.
