83% of dumps in Kirov Oblast have been eliminated.

      In 2025 alone, work was carried out in 16 municipalities. Over the year, 35 dump sites were eliminated, five of them funded by the regional budget. The total area of cleared land amounted to 37 hectares.

      According to regional authorities, this concerns not only spontaneous accumulations of waste but also large, long‑standing settlement dumps to which waste had been taken for decades. Work to eliminate them is planned to continue. In 2026, more than 31 million rubles have been allocated in the regional budget for these purposes.

      The elimination of the dumps is being carried out as part of the implementation of the federal national project "Ecological Well-being," aimed at preserving and restoring the environment.

From 2012 to 2025, 450 dump sites were eliminated in Kirov Oblast — 83% of the total number of sites slated for elimination, the regional government reported.
