Bastrykin has taken an interest in the group beating of a teenager in Slobodskoy.

      A resident of the Kirov Region recently appealed to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. She reported that in December in Slobodsk a group of teenagers beat and humiliated her 16-year-old son, recording the entire incident on video. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. The mother tried to contact the relevant authorities, but this produced no results; so far no one has been held accountable.

      Meanwhile the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region has opened a criminal case. Bastrykin demanded that Sultan Orazayev, the acting head of the Kirov department, report on the investigation. The Investigative Committee has taken the situation under its control.
